2018 Community Rides

It’s time to grab your bicycle and get ready for the 2018 Community Rides, which are already underway throughout the City. These rides will continue into the fall season and are a great way to learn where to ride in our city and meet your neighbours.
Community Rides are free, guided bike rides designed to introduce residents to cycling. Rides are planned on roads, trails and lanes through Mississauga’s diverse neighbourhoods and vary in length and style.
All residents who want to enjoy cycling in a community-based setting are invited to attend. Rides are led by experienced riders including volunteer members of the Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee (MCAC).
Marshals divide the group into three levels with a goal to ensure riders are comfortable with their level and pace. There is a mandatory helmet policy adopted by the MCAC stating that all riders must wear helmets. The kick off ride and ice cream after all Community Rides are sponsored by Toronto Pearson.
This year, the Tour Training Ride will travel through the Ward 11 community, along Bristol Rd / Main St., through the Village Square, and onto Thomas St. The details of this ride are as follows:
Burnhamthorpe and Bristol – Tour Training Ride
DATE:  Saturday September 1, 2018 @ 10:00 am
DISTANCE:  35 km
MEET:  Riverwood Park (Riverwood Park Lane)
There will be free ice cream after each community ride! For more information about the Tour Training Ride and all of the community rides across the City, please visit www.mississaugacycling.ca/rides.
