As you may know, during the fall and winter seasons, there are noticeably less daylight hours and less natural, outdoor light, which may affect mood and energy for some. To help with this lack of daylight and provide public access to light therapy technologies, the library has installed light therapy lamps at each of its 18 Mississauga locations. The light from these therapy lamps mimics natural, outdoor light, which may help to improve mood and increase energy during the winter season, when there is less natural light. As part of the library’s commitment to providing barrier-free access to existing and emerging technologies, visitors to the library can enjoy the lamps free of charge and on a first come first served basis. Make sure to ask your health provider if light therapy is a good option for you. To learn more about programs and technology available at the library, visit mississaugalibrary.ca.
